PineBridge Investments has named Angie Ng as chief executive officer for Malaysia, according to a statement released by the firm on Monday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Based out of Kuala Lumpur, Ms. Ng will also serve as managing director, equities, reporting to Hong Kong-based Elizabeth Soon, head of Asia (ex-Japan) Equities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ng\u2019s new role, which is subject to regulatory approval in Malaysia, will make her responsible for PineBridge\u2019s Malaysia office and the firm\u2019s Malaysia Management Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She will also lead PineBridge\u2019s local equities team, and be responsible for developing investment strategies and portfolio implementation to enhance the firm\u2019s equity capabilities in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She succeeds Sze Peng Yap who, after 20 years with PineBridge, will transition to a senior adviser role, reporting to Kirk Sweeney, chief executive officer for Asia Pacific.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Commenting on the new hire, Sweeney said: \u201cSoutheast Asia continues to be a critically important market for us, and Angie\u2019s extensive experience in team management and investment research positions us well in this fast-growing region.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to joining PineBridge, Ng served as investment director at the Malaysian Timber Council in Kuala Lumpur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She has also held various leadership roles in equities investment teams at VCAP Asset Managers Sdn Bhd, Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Berhad, AIA Berhad, and SBB Asset Management Sdn Bhd.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
